Rules for maintaining multi-language structure

This wiki is intended to be multi-lingual. As the wikimedia software does not support multiple languages for the articles, some conventions are required to archive a homogeneous multi-language structure. For this reason it is mandatory to put new articles into the correct name space. Name spaces are prefixed to the articles title and separated by a colon. So:

  • English articles must have a title starting with EN:
  • German articles must have a title starting with DE:
  • Other languages can be supported by request. Do not try to introduce new languages on your own!

Articles violating this rule will be deleted or moved without any further notice. It does not matter whether you plan to create the translated pages as well or not.

To create the inter-language links there are the following templates to be used:

  • Every English article has to start with: {{Template:EN:Languages|<name of the article without EN:>}}
  • Every German article has to start with: {{Template:DE:Languages|<name of the article without DE:>}}

Also this rule is mandatory for every article, regardless if you intend to translate it.

Categories

Every article has to be put into appropriate categories. For clarity, mark every article about servers with {{Template:EN:server_related}}.
